Genesis 8:22, “While the earth remaineth, seed-time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”
The last few weeks have been a new experience for many of us. Many things have happened with government that I simply never would have dreamed would have happened in America. One of the things taking up time in the news is the subject of Global Warming. The Global Warming position declares that the world is getting warmer every day and every year. That the world is being so negatively affected by carbon emissions that the atmosphere will soon (in a few years) become so polluted and the oxygen so hot that humans will be forced to take extreme measures of isolation to just survive. I know some of you are thinking, “Bro Ronnie, don’t you believe this is true?” “Don’t you believe that science confirms this?” My answer, NO! I do not believe this.
Before we go further, I think it’s important that I tell everyone that I do believe in being good stewards over what God has blessed us to have. We should be very diligent to take care and clean up after ourselves. Nothing upsets me more than seeing trash thrown to the side of the road or seeing someone dump something in an area that could potentially be dangerous for someone else. But just because I believe in caring for our environment does not mean I buy into the Global Warming/Climate Change, we’re all going to die, political scare tactic.
Let me explain and give a few reasons why I do not:
(1) Most of the people who hold and declare this modern Global Warming position, say the facts are in the science. Most of these same individuals declare that science says we came from monkeys (Evolution); that sodomy (homosexuality) is found in nature; and that life in the mother’s womb does not count as real life (they politically support abortion in all stages of pregnancy). Actually, this is not science at all. 1 Timothy 6:20 teaches us that this is “science falsely so called:…” True science actually declares that the world has went through different times of warmer and cooler temperatures. There have been as many as 30,000 plus Climate Scientists gather at one time to declare that there is no evidence to support the Global Warming/Climate Change position.
(2) The harsh winters that we have experienced of late. If Global Warming/Climate Change is true, how have we experienced record snowfalls and such harsh winters in the last few years. Sometimes Common Sense is the best sense. The greatest amount of snowfall for one year is recorded to have fallen at or near Mount Baker Ski area in Whatcolm County, Washington from July 1 – June 30 (1,140 inches or 95 feet). The year? 1898-1899? No. 1998 – 1999, how amazing is that? In Eustis, Maine there was a 24 hour snowfall of 41.8 inches December 21-22, 2008. How’s that for a white Christmas? Can you imagine Miami, Florida getting snow? Oh’ maybe 250 years ago right? No, January 19, 1977. Every time I hear a voter begging politicians to talk about Global Warming/ Climate Change my mind is stirred to the Buffalo, NY citizen who, just a few years ago, was on news digging out of his house (only the roof was seen above the snow) saying/asking, “Where is Global Warming when you need it?”
(3) The financial investors. I’m not going to waste your time by stating all the predictions of rising ocean levels. But if we sincerely consider these predictions, much, if not all, of the coast lands will be covered with water in just a few years. If some predictions are true, most of the state of Florida will be covered with water in our near future. Hmm?? How many of you have visited or seen these beaches on television lately? The amount of properties being developed is amazing. These developers, for the most part, are borrowing large amounts of money on long term notes. The last time I checked, banks are in the business of making money, not losing money. Why would these banks loan these large amounts of money if they know they were not going to be repaid? Good question, right? That is just one question that exposes the hypocrisy of this political bondage tactic.
(4) The reason that ends the argument? The Bible. The Lord teaches us in our study verse that until the last day there will be “seed-time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night…” I remember being taught as a child in Sunday School Class (these classes have zero scriptural foundation) that before the Lord returns you will not be able to tell the difference in winter and summer. Fact? This is not taught in the Bible. Our study verse debunks this easily.
In 2 Peter 3:7 we read, “And the heavens and earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.” The word I ask the reader to pay close attention to is the word “reserved.” This one word teaches us that the destruction of this world is reserved by God to do Himself. What does this mean? It means, that even though I should be diligent in my duty of caring for God’s creation, I need not to fear about the next time I crank my automobile. The world will not be destroyed until God returns to burn it on the last day. And with that knowledge, I can go to sleep at night in peace and I can ignore these scare ye’ scare ye’ politicians who are just trying to find a way to raise our taxes and keep us in financial suppression. People who are afraid are more likely to willingly give up what is rightfully theirs. And Wow, have we learned this lesson in 2020. Amen!
