What We Believe

Articles of Faith

Article 1.

We believe in one living and true God, the Father, the Word, and the Holy ghost.

Article 2.

We believe the scriptures of the Old and New Testament (in English, the King James Translation) to be the inspired Word of God, and that they alone are to govern God's people both in faith and practice.

Article 3.

We believe in the doctrine of eternal and particular election and that this election was made by God before the foundation of the world.

Article 4.

We believe that God created man good, able to stand but liable to fall, and that man fell from this pure estate and brought himself under condemnation and death, and that man, being utterly depraved, has no ability, nor desire, to deliver himself from this condition.

Article 5.

We believe that man is unable to recover himself from his fallen state by his own free will and ability.

Article 6.

We believe that the elect are justified freely by the grace of God, through Christ and His righteousness.
[Ephesians 1:5-10, Romans 5:15-19, 1st Corinthians 1:30, 2nd Corinthians 5:21]

Article 7.

We believe that God's elect shall be born again by the Holy Spirit in due time.
[John 1:12-13, 1st Peter 1:23]

Article 8.

We believe that the elect shall be preserved in grace, and shall never fall from grace.
[John 10:27-30, 17:2, Romans 8:30-39]

Article 9.

We believe that all who are called of God are under obligation to do good works, and that in keeping His commandments, there is great rewards in this present world.

Article 10.

We believe that baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances of Christ's appointment, and believers alone are the subjects of baptism and the only proper communicants of the Lord's Supper; that the mode of baptism is immersion; and, that neither of the ordinances is to be changed by the inventions or opinions of man. We believe in feet washing as an example of love and humility, as taught by our Savior.

Article 11.

We believe that no man as a minister has any right to the administration of any of the ordinances of the Gospel, except such as are sound in the Gospel, duly baptized, called of God, and have come under the imposition of hands by a regular presbytery.

Article 12.

We believe in the resurrection of the dead, both the just and the unjust, and a general judgement.

Article 13.

We believe that the punishment of the wicked will be everlasting, and the joys of the righteous will be eternal.
[Matthew 25:31-46, Revelations 20:11-15]
